Dear Muslim Community,

Ramadan
The Holly month of Ramadan is the month of fasting. Muslims fast (not eat or drink) from dawn to sunset.
Taraweeh
Is a prayer that consists of eight or twenty raka’ah and performed after Isha’a prayer.
Itikaf
Itikaf is when Muslims, especially men, spend all their time at the Masjid praying and reading The Holly Qura’an during the last ten days of the month of Ramadan. During these ten days men are welcomed and encouraged to stay in the Masjid and do as much good deeds as possible. Insha’a Allah the Masjid will be open all night during this period.
Iftar
Iftar is the evening meal when Muslims break their daily fast at sunset during the month of Ramadan. Muslims usually break their fast in a daily gathering. Prophet Mohammad (pease be upon him) used to break his fast with odd number of dates and some water or milk.
The month of Ramadan is a blessed month. Muslims are encouraged to do a lot of charity during the month especially feeding other fasting Muslims.
